  1. WELCOME

    A toast was given by Kate to all present.

  2. ATTENDANCE

    • MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE - Tina Stone, Maud Featherstone

    • SHOW AND JUDGING COMMITTEE - Kathy Ball, Barbara Downey

      Kathy Ball to head this committee, she has newest judges list. Check with Mary Watson as to whether she would still like to get the judges.

    • PROGRAM & TRIP COMMITTEE - Sandra Kirby, Jules Maule-ffinch, Roz Elson

      Carol Fields has had to resign as a director owing to family matters.

    • GARDEN TOUR COMMITTEE - Maria Pedersen, Jay Harding, Blair Day

    • REFRESHMENT COMMITTEE - Jean Keane

      Jean Keane able to do refreshments at the beginning of the year. However volunteers required from the general membership. Requests to be made at first meeting in March.

    • PHONE COMMITTEE - Jill Gellatly

      An updated member list with phone numbers is still needed.

      • Need to get a good date for the fall sale. mid October to late. Suggested Kettleby Fair- 2nd weekend in September. However the Lions are looking for a new date.

    • VICTORIA DAY PARADE -

      Go to membership for volunteers. [trailer in Carol Field’s barn]

    • VOLUNTEER HOURS COMMITTEE - Maud Featherstone

    • SHOW BOOK COMMITTEE & FLYERS - Kate Agosta, Barb Downey, Mary Watson, John Arnott, Kathy Ball, Jules Maule-ffinch

      Meeting to be arranged within the next fortnight.

    • PUBLICITY & ARCHIVES - John Arnott, Barb Downey, Jules Maule-ffinch

      Three boxes of archives from Hans. Barb to contact Gail, Muriel Mactaggart’s daughter re horticultural history. Needed for the 50th anniversary 2008.

    • MEETINGS & SET-UP - Tina Stone

    • FRONT YARD COMPETITION - Joan Jackaman, Lynda Rogers.

    • SPECIAL PROJECTS - Lynda Rodgers, Blair Day

      This is for the different gardens and areas in Nobleton and King City. Kathy Ball Nobleton Cemetery, Carol Field K.C Seniors. Blair Day Hosta Garden K.C, Marie Pedersen to oversea gardens in K.C [Wellsley Park, Lilac Garden, and 4 Corners] Lynda Rogers and Joan Jackaman Nobleton Cherry Park.

    • COMMUNITY IN BLOOMS - Lynda Rogers, Joan Jackaman

  6. OTHER BUSINESS

    1. Meeting with Catherine Purcell Dec 6th. Report re King City Township Grants. No grants available, however money up to $1000.00 available each year but advanced approval would be advisable. Suggest have a member attend meetings of the Nobleton Parks Committee as our rep; Ed Millar to be asked. We can buy and plant trees on Township land but must be approved variety and Township will maintain if notified of place of planting. King City Library work was not done thru’ a misunderstanding and missed communications. Have everything done in writing. Replanting of trees which have died [Elsie St. Jacques] and planting new trees for other deceased members [Betty Castator and Muriel Mactaggart].
    2. Garden Tour. July 15th 2007. Arts King is being held the same week , they are having a meeting Tues Jan 30th at Nobleton Arena. Kate, Barb and Joan to attend as Hort reps.
    3. District 15 AGM 2008. Nobleton hosting Schomberg Hort helping contact Linda Jessop Costs max $25.00 per person $1.50 per person from District to help with costs.
    4. OHA AGM 2008 at Sheridan Brampton Aug 22-24 Requested volunteers As we are hosting the District 15 meeting in April it was felt that we would not be able to take on any main committee commitments at the OHA meeting.
    5. Add Fundraising Committee to our list . Jules Maule Ffinch and Roz Elson.. Suggested getting a lottery license from Township . See Chris Sommerville for forms. Do a workshop for a day and charge participants. Committee to look in to feasibility.
    6. Increase lilac plantings in King City in the spring get from BTN.
