Nancy Hopkinson's Halloween arrangement Shell Out won the best in show the design class. She also won the miniature class with an arranmgement entittled Ghost. Our own orchard expert Tina Stone's orchard won top prize in the cultural class.

DESIGN CLASS (Flowers may be from any source)

  1. Poem:   a design inspired by a poem. Include the poem’s title. Optional: a verse of the poem may also be used.
  2. Gone with the Wind:    an arrangement showing/suggesting motion.
  3. Firefly:   a miniature arrangement.
  4. Black Ice:   a design using a mirror and featuring white flowers in a black or dark container.
  5. Lanterns Aglow:   a design incorporating a lantern, oil lamp or lamp globe..
  6. Stripteasel:    a design featuring wild dried teasel.
  7. Coral Reef:    an underwater design

SPECIAL CLASS

  1. Terrarium: An exhibit of growing plants. (See pub. 34/2003 p 75)

CULTURAL CLASS (name variety when possible; planted material to be in pots no larger than 30 cm [12 in])

  1. African Violet (Saintpaulia) single, one crown
  2. African Violet (Saintpaulia) double, one crown
  3. African Violet (Saintpaulia) miniature, one crown
  4. Amaryllis (Hippeastrum) - one, any variety, may be potted
